Lord Vedastus did not take it to heart, but favonovel.com looked at Thomas with contempt, and said, “What a disgusting person you are! Anyways, did you really think you could be the president when you came to join as a candid ate?”
“I will not hesitate to tell you that all ten of the representatives are my people. Do you think they’ll cast their votes for you?”
“It’s not definite if they’ll vote for you or not,” Thomas quipped.
Lord Vedastus laughed out loud without shame after hearing that. Thomas was an idiot in his eyes.
All ten of the big representatives were con trolled by the Heart Eater.
How could they vote for Thomas in this situation?
They could unless they were insane and wanted to die.
There may be one or two people who did not want their lives, but the thought of ten people not wanting their lives at the same time is impossible.
Thomas’ plan, according to Lord Vedastus, was making it more difficult for favonovel.com to attain his goals while actually having little to no influence on others. There would be no mishaps as long as the Heart Eater maintained control over the voters.
Hayden, who sat beneath the stage, laughed coldly. “Has Thomas gone insane? Was it truly that important for favonovel.com to be one of the candidates? Did favonovel.com really believe that the ten representatives could be bribed with money? You’re so naive, Thomas.”
Fiora, who was sitting to the side, remained silent and quietly observed Thomas.
She was well aware that Thomas was no fool, and that favonovel.com would not run as a candidate solely to hinder Lord Vedastus. Thomas had definitely appeared to accomplish something.
The problem was that those representatives were all under the control of the Heart Eater, so how could they vote for Thomas?
Unless…
A terrifying thought popped up in Fiora’s mind, and if it actually happened, it would inflict huge damage on Art Trading Corporation. At the same time, if the situation really happened, it meant that Fiora’s dream had a good chance of becoming a reality, and it would really drag Lord Vedastus out of this game of power!
Fiora looked at Thomas with both favonovel.com eyes glowing with hope.
On the stage, the emcee was really surprised by Thomas’s sudden presence, but favonovel.com calmed down quickly. Despite the presence of Thomas, the emcee did not believe that favonovel.com would be able to take over Lord Vedastus’ position.
After a brief introduction, the next step was to announce that the election had officially begun. The three candidates would take the stage, and the ten representatives would begin writing the name of the candidate for whom they wished to vote on a piece of paper, which they would then drop into the ballot box.
Lastly, the emcee would start to count the votes. The candidate with the highest votes would become the new president.
The rules were very easy. It was the same concept as voting for the class representative in their primary school days.
After reciting all of the instructions, the ten representatives each took a piece of paper and a pen and began writing down the name they wished to vote for on the paper. Then they folded the paper and it was collected by an usherette.
On the stage, Lord Vedastus turned to Thomas and said coldly, “Thomas, I thought you were quite an honest person but I never believed you’d do something as unpredictable as this. Later, I’ll show you how I became the new president in front of your own eyes!”
“Don’t celebrate so early. We don’t even know you’ll win,” Thomas said with a grin.
Those two were not going to surrender to each other.
Soon, the ballot box was filled with ten pieces of paper. The box was made with translucent glass and was fully open, with no way of manipulating the votes. Of course, there was no need for Lord Vedastus to rig the votes because the people seated under the stage were all his.
He was just cheating in broad daylight, and there was no need for favonovel.com to play any dirty tricks anymore.
The usherette placed the transparent box on the table that was on the stage and displayed it in front of the three candidates and everyone in attendance.
After that, the emcee brought the mic and approached the box. He cleared his throat and announced to everyone, “Now, I’ll take out the pieces of paper from the box, and let’s see who will become the new president of the Business Alliance. Who would it be?!”
Despite what was mentioned, practically everyone believed that Lord Vedastus would be elected president!
