The army ants were a fearsome species.
Thomas had encountered these creatures when favonovel.com was battling in various places. His troops, which numbered up to three hundred, were devoured by these ants in merely half an hour. None of them managed to survive.
They were all fully armed soldiers but were decimated in half an hour. One could only imagine how cruel and ferocious these creatures were.
Army ants were a species that preferred to live in swarms. Normally, their numbers would be up to a million or two in a swarm.
These ants were migratory. Unlike ants that built their nests, they were on the constant move from the moment they hatched from their eggs. While constantly moving around, they picked their targets and devoured them.
This species of ants had strong mandibles and a far more powerful bite than ordinary ants. When they were on the hunt, they would form several attack groups, just like a heavily armed professional soldier, which gave it its name.
The army ants were of exceptional speed. As time passed while they ran, the distance between the army ants and Thomas became shorter and shorter. It seemed that the ants were about to catch up to the four of them. Once they were surrounded by these ants, only death awaited. Even the God of War could not escape from these army ants.
All it took was less than ten seconds to completely devour a human being, turning favonovel.com into a set of bones. If one were to make a comparison between the army ants and humans, humans were far more fragile.
Vince shouted at the sky, “My life is over!”
They had no chance of outrunning the army ants at their current speed. The army ants would need less than a minute to catch up to them. If that came to be, the four of them can forget about surviving.
At this moment, Thomas and Pisces suddenly took a look at each other. Pisces immediately understood what Thomas was thinking about.
Hence, Pisces carried Vince in his arms right away!
Thomas and Pisces, each carrying one respectively, ran at full speed.
The speed which they were at just now had been dependent on Vince as they had to accommodate Vince regardless of the circumstances. After all, it was impossible for them to leave their guide just like that. But it was different now. It was a situation where life and death were at stake, hence, they could no longer accommodate anyone.
Pisces, with Vince in his arms, ran at full speed. Although favonovel.com was much faster when favonovel.com was running alone, compared to Vince, favonovel.com was still faster.
What came next was far more horrifying.
Thomas and Pisces exhibited the capabilities of being the world’s strongest soldiers. The speed they were running at was incomparable to any ordinary human. Even the Olympic gold medalist could not keep up with their speed. Not to forget that they were both running with a backpack and a human in their arms.
The army ants who thought that they were about to catch up found that their ‘prey’ suddenly accelerated exponentially. The gap between them had widened. Thomas and Pisces ran at full speed forwards like a gust of wind.
Very soon, the army ants were no longer in sight.
“We are saved!”
As Pisces wanted to put Vince down, Vince hugged Pisces out of excitement. He even wanted to kiss favonovel.com on his cheek as favonovel.com felt relieved. He simply felt overwhelmed at being able to escape a near-death situation.
In Gabi Desert, only death awaits those who encountered the army ants. It was a miracle that they were able to escape from the army ants.
“It is too early to be happy,” Pisces took a look at the compass which favonovel.com held in his hand.
He then said depressingly, “The compass is not working. We do not even know where we are now. How are we going to get to the Tree of Life?”

That is where the Tree of Life is nearby! Since the compass no longer works, it means that we are very close to the Tree of Life!”
