Theo and the others let out a sigh of relief. “Thank you, Mr. Mayo!”
The six chefs all submitted their resignations, which Thomas had signed one by one. In just a few minutes, all six chefs from Food and Medicine Hall left the place. By then, Food and Medicine Hall was completely emptied out.
Thomas, on the other hand, remained as calm as a cat. He called Pisces over and whispered a few words to him, then sat down and poured tea into his cup, which favonovel.com sipped quietly.
A group of people walked into the room at that very moment, and the one leading them was Wyatt!
“Oh? What’s the matter, Mr. Mayo?” Wyatt said cheerfully as favonovel.com strolled in. “Why did I see all the chefs packing their stuff and leaving when I was walking in just now?”
Thomas looked at him, and favonovel.com had a pretty good idea why favonovel.com had come here. This man must have done something dirty and caused all his staff members to leave.
“Ah, that’s too bad. I was planning on coming here to taste Food and Medicine Hall’s food, but I just realized that all the chefs have left by the time I arrived. What should I do?” Wyatt said with a shake of his head and a pained look on his face.
“Sigh, what a pity, my friends. Let us go, then. I don’t think Food and Medicine Hall is going to remain in business.”
Facing the provocation of his enemies, Thomas laughed coldly and said, “My dear guests, please wait for a while. Food and Medicine Hall is going to have a new batch of chefs.”
“Really? And how soon will that happen?” Wyatt chuckled.
Thomas glanced at his watch and said, “I think it’ll take five more minutes for them to arrive.”
“Food and Medicine Hall’s reemployment pace is quite fast,” Wyatt stated, laughing out loud. “All right, my friends, let’s wait for a while for the new cooks to come, and then we’ll get a taste of their cooking.”
In other words, Wyatt just wanted to watch Thomas humiliate himself because Wyatt knew in his heart that Food and Medicine Hall would never be able to hire new chefs!
The six chefs they had were the pillars of Food and Medicine Hall, and now that Wyatt had done them dirty and forced them to resign, how could they stay in business without them?
Following normal procedures, they would hire new chefs. However, Wyatt had eliminated any prospects of it happening. With the help of Art Trading Corporation’s influence, Wyatt had spread the word to all the chefs in Celandine City that should anyone ever accept Food and Medicine Hall’s offer, they would become the company’s enemies!
All those renowned chefs were concerned about their reputation, so they would never go up against Art Trading Corporation. It was totally impossible to recruit chefs on par with Theo and the others in such a short period of time, but Thomas claimed favonovel.com could accomplish it in five minutes.
It was nothing more than wishful thinking. But Wyatt was interested in seeing how Thomas would embarrass himself later.
Five minutes was a very brief amount of time, and it went by in a blink of an eye. And as Wyatt predicted, not a single chef showed up.
Wyatt stood up and burst out laughing. “Mr. Mayo, I think you’re…”
But before favonovel.com could finish his sentence, Pisces had brought in six new chefs. “I have successfully recruited six new chefs.”
“What?!” Wyatt was taken aback and immediately turned to face the entrance. He could not believe that new chefs would agree to work at Food and Medicine Hall despite Art Trading Corporation’s threats. But after a good look at the chefs, his anger changed to amusement, and favonovel.com burst out laughing.
“Mr. Mayo, are these wonky-looking people the new chefs that you mentioned just now?”
Wyatt was right. When compared to Theo and the other renowned chefs, the six new chefs could indeed be described as “wonky-looking people”.
First, those six persons were unqualified chefs, and they were all, without exception, merely roadside vendors. They were the type of people that had their food displayed on carts out in the open and cooked for customers on the spot.
