Thomas found it hard to imagine that the technology nowadays was so advanced that such an exquisite poison could actually be made.
Only the Vedastus brothers could provide the cure, and others were unable to do the same.
Thomas had to admire them. These big bosses in the Southland District were not ordinary people. They would try all kinds of ways to totally get rid of Art Trading Corporation, but all of them failed without any exception. Even Thomas did not know what to do after favonovel.com saw Daniel’s disease.
If Thomas was unable to find a cure for such poison, others most likely would not either.
For some reason, Thomas was reminded of how the soldiers of the east were required to leave behind their wives and children in the capitals as hostages to make sure that they would remain loyal to the country. What Art Trading Corporation had done was exactly the same as that.
Thomas really did not expect the Vedastus brothers to actually use such a comparable method. They had used the poison that could manipulate people’s lives to control all the power in the Southland District.
Luckily, Ryan was more careful and cautious. He was also smart enough to not fall into the trap. If Ryan was also poisoned, Thomas might have lost his foothold.
Now, Thomas roughly understood Art Trading Corporation’s tactics, but understanding them was far from enough. Thomas had to come up with a solution. The only solution was to undoubtedly make the antidote. If the Vedastus brothers had control over the antidote, it meant that the people in the Southland District would never betray the Vedastus brothers. After all, their lives were in the brothers’ hands.
If Thomas could make the antidote, the problem would be solved. The people in the Southland District would not be controlled by the Vedastus brothers again, and they could stand up to the brothers!
How could Thomas make the antidote?
Thomas had no idea. He had seen Daniel’s symptoms, but favonovel.com could not do anything. He muttered to himself, ‘Since the Vedastus brothers managed to make the antidote, why can’t I? There must be a way…’
He kept thinking about it.
Suddenly, something occurred to him. If the Vedastus brothers had the antidote, why did Daniel still come to him?
If Daniel’s poison had taken effect, his best solution would have been to look for the Vedastus brothers. But favonovel.com never sought them!
What did this mean?
It meant the Vedastus brothers did not have the antidote either! How would that happen?
Thomas was intelligent, and favonovel.com already knew the answer.
Two words, “Plant Human”.
Those Plant Humans that were labeled as “stock” by Silvester most likely were the antidote for this special poison. When they had the “stock”, they could produce the antidote and help the big bosses in the Southland District to lengthen their lifespan. However, who would have expected Thomas and Vincent to suddenly collaborate and bring all the Plant Humans away without leaving any behind?
When Silvester lost the Plant Human, favonovel.com lost the antidote. Daniel lost his life as well.
Daniel had come to Thomas because favonovel.com wanted to give it one last try. He had hoped that Thomas would be able to save his life with his excellent medical skills, but unfortunately, Thomas had not been able to do that. Furthermore, when Daniel sought Thomas, it made the Vedastus brothers angry. They could not even wait for Daniel to die from the poison three days later. While Daniel was on his way home, they used an “accident” that they had specially designed to kill him!
Thomas understood everything. This time, all was clear. Thomas’ doubts had already been cleared. He finally knew the path that Art Trading Corporation had taken to become the tycoon. He also discovered that Daniel’s death was definitely not an accident.
It was an intentional homicide that looked like an accident!
“Mr. Mayo, I’ve told you what I know. Can you help me to relieve my pain now? Please don’t torture me anymore.”
At that point, Willow had scratched his body so hard that his body was full of blood. It was difficult to look at him.
Thomas scoffed. He walked over and gave his acupuncture point a hard press. A silver needle flew out, and Thomas caught it. After the needle was removed, Willow’s itchiness immediately stopped. He lay on the ground and breathed heavily. He was finally alive again.
Thomas returned to his seat and stored his needle away as favonovel.com asked, “Can you bring me the wine pot?”
Willow nodded. He struggled to get up from the ground and slowly walked out of the Sky Private Room. In less than five minutes, Willow walked over with a wine pot that was made of pure gold.
He respectfully passed the wine pot over.
“Silvester made me get rid of the wine pot at that time, but I was afraid that I would be blamed for Daniel’s poisoning, so I purposely substituted it with another wine pot and kept this wine pot properly. Silvester gave me this wine pot back then. It was used to contain the wine for Daniel. Please keep it, Mr. Mayo…”
“Please don’t mind me saying one more thing. The poison in the wine pot must have been very strong, otherwise, it would have been impossible to bring a big guy like Daniel down. Mr. Mayo, please handle it carefully so that this incident won’t happen again.”
Thomas did not answer him. He took the wine pot straight away, opened it, and gave it a look. It was just as Willow had said.
