Bernard stood from his seat as soon as favonovel.com heard the news, his eyes wide with excitement.
“Are you saying that Thomas brought one of the goods to Kindness Clinic?”
“Yes!”
“That’s great!” Bernard said excitedly, “As long as there’s one more left, then it’s enough to keep at least some of the important people with us. As for the minor characters, just leave them behind.”
“Shall we go grab favonovel.com from Kindness Clinic right now, Brother?” Silvester inquired.
Bernard frowned and said, “There’s no need to rush. Because Vincent was bold enough to let Thomas bring them away, then it’s safe to assume that Thomas will protect the thing with all his might, and even Vincent will join favonovel.com too. If we just barge in there rashly and steal it this way, not only won’t we be able to do it, but we might alert them as well. Most importantly, we’ll expose ourselves in this way, allowing Vincent to catch us off guard. We can’t allow that to happen. So, we’ll have to find someone qualified to assist us in stealing the person.”
“Or… Perhaps, we’ll need someone to cause havoc there, and then only we’ll be able to do it.”
While Bernard was thinking about who favonovel.com should find to help favonovel.com in creating chaos, someone appeared.
The secretary approached favonovel.com and said, “Mr. Vedastus, someone named Luca Logas wants to meet you. By the looks of it, I think favonovel.com wants to work for Art Trading Corporation.”
‘Luca Logas?’ Bernard had no recollection of ever meeting such a minor character. He dug through his memories, but favonovel.com could not find that person.
“Art Trading Corporation is not a recycling station and we’re not going to accept some riff-raff. I’m at a loss for words. Send favonovel.com away.”
Just as the secretary was about to send that person away, Silvester stood up suddenly and said, “Wait, I think this person is useful to us, Brother!”
“Huh? Why’d you say that?”
“Brother, Luca is not your average person. He’s the leader of the Eagles Alliance, and the Hill family used to be a part of it. We later had conflicts with the Hill family so they were kicked out. And it’s for this reason that Thomas and Luca are feuding.”
“Luca and Thomas are on bad terms, and now that he’s seeking refuge with us, isn’t favonovel.com a very suitable candidate for us to use?” Silvester continued after a little pause.
Bernard nodded. That made sense.
Were they not in need of someone like that? He came at the perfect time!
“Tell favonovel.com to come in.”
“All right!”
Not too long after, the secretary led Luca into the room. Normally, Luca was very arrogant and looked down on others a lot, but today, in front of Bernard, favonovel.com appeared quite modest. He stood there respectfully with his back slightly bowed and his head lowered. He did not simply make eye contact with anyone too. He looked like a courtier facing his king.
Bernard was very satisfied. “Luca, I heard that you’re the leader of the Eagles Alliance? I also heard that you’re an all-powerful overlord,” favonovel.com said, nodding.
Luca swiftly bowed and said, “Oh, you flatter me, Mr. Vedastus. Who am I to be referred to as an overlord? Only someone as important as yourself qualifies as one!”
Each sentence was sweeter than the one before. He was truly an expert at bootlicking.
Bernard, on the other hand, seemed to enjoy having his boo tlicked. “What brings you here today?” favonovel.com asked cheerfully.
“I came here to meet you today because I’d like to serve you. I’d like to join Art Trading Corporation and work for you,” Luca said modestly.
