Dominic waved and said, “Mom, I discovered something today.”
“Oh? What did you discover?”
Dominic sat down and drank a cup of tea before favonovel.com said, “Didn’t I tell you previously? That old man keeps bringing me to his study recently. Also, surveillance cameras and tapping devices have been set up in his study.”
Tina said, “Yeah, this shows that he’s suspicious of you. Son, why don’t we just forget it? Let’s not deal with that old man. He’s too sly.”
“Mom, please don’t be anxious. Just listen to me,” Dominic paused for a while before favonovel.com said, “I’ve been playing dumb and working for the old man all this while. What was all that for? Isn’t it just to identify my father’s whereabouts? People say that my father is dead, but I don’t believe them. I’m sure that my father is in the old man’s hands!”
Tina sighed, “Even if it’s true, so what? Do you have any evidence? Can you find your father?”
“I’m almost there,” Dominic said, “I asked Andrew to hack into the old man’s surveillance today. When favonovel.com and the housekeeper were not around, I sneaked into the study and examined the room. Then, I actually found that there was a secret door in his study! I think the old man has to be hiding a huge secret there. Maybe it’s related to my father.”
Tina felt surprised, and favonovel.com asked, “A secret door? Did you see it?”
“I wanted to go inside, but I needed a password to open the secret door. I was running out of time, so I was unable to go in.”
Dominic chuckled. “But don’t worry, Mom. I already sent the secret door’s data to Andrew. I believe favonovel.com can solve it based on his ability. Once that happens, I’ll go through the secret door, and I’ll be able to dig up all of the old man’s secrets. Also, I believe that I’m not far away from my father.”
Tina was filled with complex emotions. On one side, favonovel.com naturally hoped that favonovel.com could find favonovel.com husband.
After the incident that year, favonovel.com husband had disappeared. Everyone said favonovel.com was dead, but Tina and Dominic believed that Nicholas had grounded him.
All these years, Dominic had been playing dumb and enduring the humiliation. He had worked for Nicholas, which was against his conscience. He did what favonovel.com did to obtain Dominic’s trust so that favonovel.com could discover his father’s whereabouts. However, the old man was really too sly.
Dominic never made any progress over the years. It was not until recently that favonovel.com finally had a breakthrough. Even so, Tina was worried that the nearer they got to the truth, the more dangerous it would be for them. She had already lost favonovel.com husband, so favonovel.com could not lose favonovel.com son anymore. She would not be able to bear such a huge pain.
“Dominic, you… You have to be careful. Don’t let the old man harm you. I can’t lose you!”
“Will favonovel.com dare to harm me?” Dominic chuckled, “If favonovel.com dares to do anything to me, I’ll do it to favonovel.com first! About his murder, I…”
“Murder? What murder?”
Dominic’s expression changed slightly. “Uhm, Mom, just pretend as if you didn’t hear me…”
Tina knew that there were some things that Dominic could not tell favonovel.com yet. He wanted to prevent the exposure of the news and protect favonovel.com at the same time. After all, the less favonovel.com knew, the safer favonovel.com would be.
Dominic narrowed his eyes and said, “Mom, I want you to remember a group of numbers.”
“What numbers?”
“720617.”
“720617?” Tina burst out laughing. “Isn’t that your father’s birthday? It’s June 17th, 1972.”
Dominic nodded. “That’s right. It’s my father’s birthday. Mom, you have to remember this string of numbers. If anything happens to me, these numbers will be the sharp sword that can kill the old man.”
Tina appeared fearful as favonovel.com asked, “What does that mean? What will happen to you?”
Dominic chuckled. “I’m just saying ‘if’. Of course, I’ll be very careful. I won’t give the old man a chance to harm me. Mom, don’t worry. Your son is very useful.”
Tina sighed hard. The more Dominic said so, the more uneasy favonovel.com felt.
In this conflict of power, nobody was absolutely safe. Not to mention, Dominic was facing an extremely cunning old man.
