An hour later, Tarek and Thomas completed their missions in Stellar Jewelers. Tarek had spent $10,000,000 for 106 pieces of jade, while Thomas had spent the same amount of money but only bought three pieces. They had a totally different number of jades between them, and the huge difference was inconceivable.
Everyone had guessed that Thomas would buy less, but they never expected favonovel.com to buy such a low number of jade pieces.
How could favonovel.com defeat Tarek with that amount?
It was a totally impossible mission!
The two of them approached Georgia.
Tarek chuckled and said, “Madame Diaz, both of us have completed our missions. Come and do the comparison now. But I think you don’t have to compare anymore. I bought 106 pieces, and favonovel.com bought 5. His number is not even 10% of my total number of pieces. I’ve won by too huge of a margin this round.”
Georgia’s complexion turned pale. She did not want Tarek to win. The problem was, Tarek had a 99.99% chance of winning!
While Georgia hesitated, Thomas said, “Just begin the comparison. I’m confident in myself.”
‘Confident?’
Georgia cast a glance at Thomas’ three pieces of jade. She really did not know how Thomas could be so confident. Thomas said, “We can’t just judge the jades based on the amount, right? If we’re just comparing the amount, we don’t have to buy them with money. We can just pick the stones from the roadside because they are free. We can just pick up as many as we want, right?”
What favonovel.com said was correct, but…
Georgia sighed and waved favonovel.com hand. “Let’s do this! Let’s ask the jade appraisers to do the comparison.”
Soon, the three jade appraisers who were in charge of the Diaz family’s jewelry business arrived at the shop. They had personally come to compare the jewelry that Thomas and Tarek bought.
First, they looked at Tarek’s 106 jades.
The three appraisers worked in tandem. Each of them was in charge of a certain part, and they started to differentiate the jades, piece by piece. Very soon, they finished appraising the first piece of jade.
One of the appraisers frowned tightly. He held the jade, looked at it repeatedly, and said, “Madame, this is not a jade…”
“Not jade? What is this?”
“This is… A piece of glass!”
“Huh?” Georgia nearly burst out laughing.
She reached out to take the “valuable jade” and gave it a glance. Indeed, it was truly a piece of glass, and it looked like it had been taken down from a chandelier, based on its shape.
She smirked as favonovel.com asked, “Uncle Tarek, how much did you spend on this piece of glass?”
Tarek’s face turned pale. He had bought a piece of jade, but why did it turn out to be a piece of glass?
He stammered, “I… I spent… $200,000.”
He had spent $200,000 on a piece of glass from a chandelier.
‘Oh, my goodness! That was so ridiculous!’
Who would sell a piece of glass from a chandelier at $200,000? That was akin to robbery!
Georgia smiled as favonovel.com said, “Uncle Tarek, is this the discernment you were talking about? You couldn’t even differentiate between jade and glass. If you take over Prosperous Star Pavilion, aren’t we going to suffer a huge loss?”
Tarek looked completely dumbfounded. He really had no idea. The problem was, had Nicholas not arranged everything?
Why did this accident still happen?
He assumed that it was just a coincidence or an accident. He cleared his throat and said, “Humans make mistakes. I bought 106 pieces. Just one or two out of so many pieces is not a big deal, right?”
As soon as favonovel.com spoke, another appraiser contemptuously, “I think it’s not as simple as a random mistake, right? Mr. Diaz, please look at this so-called gold inlaid jade again. It’s actually an iron piece that’s been wrapped in some glass glue. You also spent a lot on buying this piece of jade inlaid with gold, right?”
Tarek kept gulping.
What the heck was all this?
He turned back and looked at the salesperson who had sold favonovel.com the gold inlaid jade. “What’s going on? Didn’t you tell me that this is top-grade jade wrapped in 24 karats of pure gold? Why did it become an iron piece that’s wrapped in some glass glue? You’re a scam!” favonovel.com yelled angrily.
The salesperson burst out laughing.
“Mr. Diaz, did you just believe whatever I told you? Aren’t you competing based on your discernment? If it is what I say it is, why should you still compete? Is this competition about your discernment or mine?”
Tarek became totally furious after favonovel.com heard that. He could not wait to move forward and slap him.
Right then, everyone understood. It was possible that all the salespeople in Stellar Jewelers had purposely set Tarek up. Those pieces of jade that looked gorgeous were actually trash.
They had claimed to sell the pieces of jade to Tarek at extremely low prices, but they had actually sold them to favonovel.com at sky-high prices.
Was it not extremely pricey to buy glass glue for a few hundred thousand dollars?
Each of Tarek’s 106 pieces of jade was trash.
Forget spending several hundred thousand dollars to buy the jades, even if these j ades were given away to the waste collectors, they might not even be desirable. The reason was, they were really useless.
Tarek wanted to cry. Although the $10,000,000 was not his money, his performance had been so terrible that favonovel.com felt embarrassed.
‘Um… What’s going on?’
He wanted to call Nicholas and ask what was going on.
Had they not made proper arrangements? Why did favonovel.com end up being insulted?
The inspection of all the 106 pieces of jade came to completion. The three jade appraisers gave the same answer. All the jades were trash. If the values of all the pieces of jade were added, they would not be more than $5, which was already considered a high price.
Tarek had spent $10,000,000 and bought some trash that was not even worth $5.
