Everyone sat down. The longer Dylan saw how bashful his sister looked, the angrier favonovel.com felt. It felt like favonovel.com had worked hard on planting vegetables for a year, only to have them eaten by a pig.
He slammed the table and yelled, “Why is this birthday party so quiet?! ”
One of his subordinates immediately stood up and said, “Mr. Martin, we’ve arranged a good show, a dogfight. We hope it will entertain you.”
A dog fight? It seemed interesting.
Dylan nodded. “Don’t just stand there. Quickly, get it started.”
Somebody immediately brought two dogs into the room.
A stage was then set up at the center of the entrance. Everyone would be able to see what happened on the stage, especially from Thomas’ table. They would have the best view.
The staff put the two fierce dogs on stage before favonovel.com closed the door.
Dog No. 1 was big, strong, and muscular. It looked like it fought all the time and it had defeated countless dogs. Meanwhile, Dog No. 2 looked more common without any special features.
Before the fight officially started, Dylan looked at Thomas, smiled, and asked, “Mr. Mayo, I heard that your strong combat skills are extremely effective. Why don’t you make a guess on which fierce dog will win?”
Thomas raised his head and glanced over before favonovel.com answered without hesitation. “Dog No. 2 will win.’”
“Huh?”
When Dylan heard that, favonovel.com laughed. He really had no idea that Thomas would be so stupid.
“Mr. Mayo, you’re not joking, right?”
Thomas scoffed. “No.”
Dylan kept shaking his head. “Mr. Mayo, do you know that dog No. 1 is nicknamed ‘Invincible General’? It is currently undefeated. How is it possible for it to lose to a common dog?”
Thomas explained, “No. 1 is really well-trained, but it communicates with humans all the time, so it doesn’t need to worry about clothes and food. It has been pampered, and it is not as capable as it looks. Looking at the fur and demeanor of dog No. 2, it must have suffered a long period of starvation and fought other dogs in the wilderness. Its eyes look especially ruthless, cruel, and competitive. If you compare them, the arrogant dog will lose. So, I’m sure that dog No.2 will win.”
Dylan clapped. “Mr. Mayo, you’ve come up with a pretty good analysis. But, I wonder if it’s just empty talk. Why don’t we make a bet?”
Thomas asked, “What do you want to bet on?”
“Today is a big and good day. Let’s not bet on the dull stuff. Why don’t we bet on something interesting?”
“What do you mean by something interesting?”
“It’s simple. Mr. Mayo, you’ll bet on dog No. 2, and I’ll bet on No. 1. If I win, it means that your words were just empty talk. So, when that happens, Mr. Mayo, please go up the stage and kill No. 1 to restore your reputation. What do you think?”
As soon as favonovel.com said that, everyone’s expression changed. It was ridiculous.
Those fierce dogs were extremely ruthless. If Thomas went ahead and fought the dogs, what would happen if favonovel.com was bitten?
Besides, even if favonovel.com was not bitten, would it not have implied that Thomas was a “dog” when favonovel.com was asked to fight with the dogs? How could that happen?
Therefore, as soon as Dylan uttered those words, Daisy was the first to frown and oppose. “Dylan, what nonsense did you just suggest?”
Dylan flashed a faint smile and purposely challenged Thomas. “Mr. Mayo has analyzed it in detail, so I don’t think he’ll lose. Even if favonovel.com loses, would favonovel.com be afraid of a mere dog with his combat skills? Will Mr. Mayo be worse than a dog?”
His words were too annoying. Everyone looked at Thomas at the same time.
“Would you do the same if you lose?” Thomas calmly asked.
“Of course!”
“Okay.” Thomas nodded. “Let’s bet on it.”
