Amidst the cheers and applause from the crowd, Jed Motley brought Thomas Mayo to his new office. He pushed the door open.
“Mr. Thomas, this will be your office from today onwards. No one will disturb you anymore in this separate office…”
Thomas went in and took a look.
The office was clean and tidy. It was indeed not bad. But the only caveat was it being a little empty and not welcoming enough.
Jed closed the door behind him.
“ Mr. Thomas, are you… Okay?” Jed’s tone was different as favonovel.com spoke, it was like favonovel.com was the devil in the horror film as favonovel.com sounded enigmatic.
Thomas looked to the side as favonovel.com said, “Yeah I am fine, why would I be not?”
Jed asked, “Are you thirsty?”
“Come to think of it, I think l am a little thirsty.”
“Do you not feel your head getting heavier?”
Thomas shivered, supported his hand on his forehead, and gasped for air as favonovel.com said, “You are right, my head is getting heavier. It is very uncomfortable.”
Jed rejoiced. He took out a sound modification device, tweaked the frequency on it, and placed it on his lips.
In this way, every word that Jed spoke would be transmitted to Thomas through the sound modification device at a specific frequency. And this frequency intermingled with the pill that Thomas took just now, stimulating his brain to listen to every order that was given. This in turn fulfilled their aim to control Thomas.
“Sit down, Thomas.”
A miraculous thing happened. Thomas, like a trained dog, listened to Jed’s orders and sat on the ground.
“Extend your left hand.”
Thomas extended his left hand.
“Stick your tongue out like a dog.”
Thomas stuck his tongue out like a pug. He sat on the ground with his hands extended and tongue out. His image was completely shattered.
“Hahahaha! Thomas, serves you right eh?”
Jed laughed out loud. He had been waiting for this moment for a very long time, and finally, his wish came true.
Ever since Thomas ‘came back’, Jed who held the position of general manager had to endure and be patient. It was as if Thomas had really taken over his position as the successor of the company.
All this while, Jed was furious about it. Now favonovel.com felt better.
Thomas took the medicine and was under Jed’s control. He did not need to endure for even a moment longer. Jed sat on the sofa and said, “Pour me a cup of tea, Thomas.”
Thomas obediently went to the tea table, poured a cup of tea, and brought it to Jed.
Jed never felt so satisfied before.
“Delightful, this is just delightful!”
As favonovel.com picked up the cup and wanted to drink his tea, everything went all dark all of a sudden. And something unknown flew into his mouth. Before favonovel.com could process the situation favonovel.com swallowed whatever was in his mouth.
“What is that?”
Jed stood up and stuffed his finger down his throat in an attempt to force himself to vomit. But it was too late. The thing that favonovel.com swallowed was already in his stomach. He was unable to force it out.
“Brother Jed, that is the Spirit Pearl, consuming it will strengthen your body,” Thomas’s voice was the least of what Jed expected.
Jed was shocked from head to toe as favonovel.com lifted his head up and looked at Thomas. Thomas who had supposedly fallen under control was new full of energy and confident in himself. There were no signs of favonovel.com being controlled at all.
“You, how did you retain consciousness?” Jed was dumbfounded.
Thomas said lightly, “Since the both of you were so impatient and wanted me to consume the pill immediately, it means that there was definitely something wrong. Did you think I would eat the pill in such a situation?”
