As a ‘war’ outbreak happened right in front of his eyes, Thomas Mayo took the initiative to stand up at this crucial moment and said, “Father, and Mr. Eastwood. I understand how both of you feel.”
“That is right, how can someone not work and get paid nonetheless? So father, why don’t you assign some tasks for me? Hmm, since Mr. Eastwood is not happy about it, why not assign me temporarily to his research and development department so I can work with Mr. Eastwood? How about that?”
Craig Eastwood laughed out loud. “Alright, welcome aboard!”
Nelson Mayo looked far more unhappy than favonovel.com was before this. But in fact, favonovel.com was not actually biased or favoring Thomas at all.
The reason why favonovel.com wanted Thomas to not get any work at all was to stop Thomas from getting his hands on the company’s core secrets. In a way, favonovel.com was ‘soft containing’ Thomas by giving favonovel.com the position of deputy director. He wanted Thomas to have completely nothing to do.
Thomas had realized the problem as the meeting started. In the midst of cracking his head for a solution, Craig jumped on favonovel.com at the perfect timing and gave favonovel.com what favonovel.com needed.
Poor Craig thought that what favonovel.com did would only produce more trouble for Thomas, but in fact, favonovel.com assisted favonovel.com greatly.
It was only in the research and development where Thomas had the chance to get hold of the core technology and secrets of Sterling Technology.
Getting in was never easy. But due to Craig spouting nonsense, Thomas found an excuse to get in without any issues. How wonderful that was.
Poor Craig was still in the dark.
Nelson schooled his expression and said, “In that case, then so be it. Thomas shall be temporarily assigned to the research and development department in cooperation with Craig. Thomas, even though you are in a higher position than Craig, you are there to learn and not instruct or manage him.”
Nelson was a little hasty here as favonovel.com was afraid that Craig would be pressured by Thomas with his position.
Thomas snickered. “Naturally. I am there to learn, not to manage anyone.”
Nelson frowned. He did not look happy. He secretly took a glance at Jed on his right. Was this how favonovel.com managed his subordinates?
Jed looked down helplessly.
He did remind Craig before but that rascal did not listen to him. He did not know what else could be done.
The meeting ended and Thomas was officially the successor and deputy director of Sterling Technology. He was also assigned to the research and development department to learn under Craig.
In the research and development department office. Craig gathered the people and announced Thomas’ addition to the team. As expected, no one welcomed Thomas. From their point of view, Thomas was a blood-sucking, good-for-nothing loser who did not do any work and still got paid for it.
No one would like a person of such quality no matter where they were. Everyone present completely ignored Thomas.
One of the research and development members, Diana Red said, “Mr. Eastwood, Dream Network called to urge us again. Our research proposal got rejected for the fifth time now. What should we do?”
Craig sighed. “Dream Network obviously is messing with us on purpose. The demands they proposed do not make sense.”
Diana said, “Why don’t we give up on this project?”
Craig shook his head. “That cannot be done. The project’s dividend is worth more than ten million dollars. How can we give up just because you said so?”
“But… We are incapable of securing this project!”
Members of the research and development department frowned.
Even though they were depressed, they still did not forget to tease Thomas. “Alas, would be nice if only we were born in a rich family right? We do not need to work and we still get paid. Life would be much better that way.”
“That’s right, like someone who says favonovel.com came to learn. I guess it is more appropriate for favonovel.com to say favonovel.com is here for a tea break.”
Everyone was not happy.
The sight of Thomas idling around added fuel to fire. Craig secretly rejoiced. ‘Heh, Thomas oh Thomas, you too ended up this way today eh? Were you not very capable? Why not show me how capable you are again?’
He purposely said, “That’s enough. You guys should find a way to solve the problem, not compare yourself with some bug. You do not have the leisure to.”
He compared Thomas to a bug in the open, akin to swearing right in his face.
Everyone laughed out loud. Thomas, however, remained calm.
He took a few steps over and looked at the rejected proposals that were on the desk and said. “As a newcomer, I did not prepare any gifts. How about this. I will handle the cooperation with Dream Network on my own accord. Within three days, I will be back with the proposal signed, as a gift for everyone.”
“What do you guys think?”
