The thunderous applause lasted for more than ten minutes before it slowly died down. It was long enough for Thomas to feel their love for him.
But not everyone felt the same.
There was one person who had not budged from the start to the end of it. Even his applause was an act. And this ‘different’ person was Donald Brick!
He was stunned from the moment Thomas entered the stage. He had never, at any point in time, thought that Thomas was the Southland District chief officer in charge. In his opinion, it was impossible.
But it was different at this point.
Thomas had revealed himself in public and with how Samson Wood was respectful towards him, favonovel.com could not deny the fact even if favonovel.com wanted to.
No matter how smart and bold Thomas was, favonovel.com would never do an absurd and foolish choice such as pretending to be the chief officer in charge in public. Therefore, the matter regarding Thomas being the chief officer in charge was as real as it can be.
Donald finally woke up from his confused state.
“No wonder I could never win against him. No matter who I sought out for help, I always failed miserably without knowing why. Turns out favonovel.com is the man who is on top of the food chain.”
No matter who favonovel.com sought for in the Southland District, none of them were as powerful as Thomas. Hence, was it not stupid of favonovel.com to look for someone to go against Thomas?
Donald also understood why the chief officer in charge had insisted on inviting the Hill family to attend the conference. They were his family, how can favonovel.com not invite them?!
And since favonovel.com saw Johnson Hill and his family’s reaction, they probably did not expect that the one who was on the stage today to be Thomas.
It was pretty funny if one thought about it. None of them knew of Thomas’s true identity as it had been hidden all along. But when they knew of Thomas’s true identity, favonovel.com chose to retire and was no longer the chief officer in charge after this conference.
When they should have known about it, they did not. But when they should not know, they knew.
It was weird.
Donald sighed and said to himself, ‘The chief officer in charge is Thomas. Heh, alas, it is good enough that I am still alive!’
He had no intention to go against Thomas and his family for the rest of his life.
If an egg falls on the stone, alas for the egg. Donald would never think of doing such a stupid thing. It was fine since favonovel.com did not know before this, but now that favonovel.com knew, favonovel.com will not offend favonovel.com anymore.
Donald sat there and looked at Thomas who was on the stage. He thought, perhaps the situation would be completely different if favonovel.com knew who Thomas really was. In that case, favonovel.com would not hesitate to gain favor with Thomas.

I am ashamed as I need to bother everyone for this small occasion. But after all, I am the chief officer in charge of the Southland District. Even if I do not like high-profile events like this, there are things that I need to explain to the public myself.”
“First of all, I want to apologize to you as I did not reveal my identity all this while. That has been selfish on my part…”
In the first two hours, Thomas basically made a summarized report of his work ever since favonovel.com took the position. At the very least it could be regarded as an explanation to the public.
