Donald tidied up his suit and sat on one of the VIP seats reserved at the venue. There was a smug expression on his face. He had made an awe-inspiring presence just now.
‘Everyone from the Hill family has been sent to prison by me personally. They will be locked up for at least a few months! I just could not bear to see my wife going to prison alone, and I had to find some scapegoats for it.’
He felt happy just thinking about it.
As favonovel.com was daydreaming, his cell phone rang all of a sudden. It was an unidentified caller number.
Donald frowned and thought, ‘Why am I getting an unidentified call?”
He chose to take up the call. “Hey, may I ask who this is?”
“This is Thomas.”
When favonovel.com heard of Thomas’ name, Donald’s mood changed greatly. Although favonovel.com hated this man immensely, favonovel.com knew why Thomas was calling favonovel.com now.
‘What other reasons can that be? He must have come for the sake of the Hill family.’
Not surprisingly, Thomas said straightforwardly on the phone call, “Donald, since we have been relatives before, I decided to give you a chance. Now you will go to the jail, release my family members and apologize to them. I will treat this matter as something that has never happened before. Today is a special day and I don’t want to create too much havoc.”
Donald could not help but keep sniggering. ‘Aha, what is this? Is this a threat?’
‘I am the Deputy Commander of the Eastern Regions, but Thomas is just a useless son-in-law. I heard that favonovel.com had lost his job recently. There is a huge disparity between the social status of us both, but Thomas actually dared to speak to me in a tone of ‘command’. This is just crazy!’
Donald sneered and said, “Thomas, do you think you can do whatever you want with your little tricks? Let me tell you that the Hill family isn’t getting out of jail today. Not only that they are not getting out today, but tomorrow, the day after tomorrow and so forth! I will assure you that they will be locked in there for at least three months. And I’m also telling you that they will be having a hard time in jail! Your beautiful and delicate woman will soon turn into a skinny old woman! Haha!”
Donald smiled presumptuously.
He had been humiliated by Thomas many times before, and favonovel.com finally found a chance to retaliate severely this time.

The phone call was hung up.
Donald looked at the phone and sneered, “You’re just ants scurrying about, and you dare to talk to me like this? You are really digging your own grave.”
He thought, ‘When today’s retirement ceremony is over, I’ll immediately go to the Hill family’s house to arrest Thomas. I’ll say that favonovel.com might be Johnson’s accomplice.’
As favonovel.com was thinking about it sinisterly, Donald saw several people walking towards him. The leader was popular and had an extraordinary demeanor.
It was Samson Wood.
Samson was known publicly as the right-hand man of the chief officer in charge. Any orders of the chief officer in charge would be handled by Samson. Donald always treated favonovel.com in the same way favonovel.com treats the chief officer in charge. Even though Samson’s position was of a lower rank compared to Donald, favonovel.com did not dare to be careless. He immediately got up to welcome favonovel.com with a smile.
“Chief Wood, good day, sir.”
Normally people would not slap a person in the face when favonovel.com is smiling at you. But as Donald was showing a smiley face, Samson did not show any mercy at all.
He said with a cold face, “Donald Brick, Deputy Commander, how dare you!”
The tone favonovel.com used was deep and ferocious. Donald was scared to death by this sudden reaction of Samson and favonovel.com involuntarily took a step back. He gulped down a mouthful of saliva, kept a smiley face and asked, “Chief Wood, why are you saying this?”
Samson glared at Donald and said, “Aha, why are you asking me such a question? Aren’t you clear about what you’ve done?”
Donald was in psychological distress. ‘What have I done? I have done nothing wrong.’
‘I have never met with the chief officer in charge. There is no possibility for me to offend the chief officer in charge at all. Why is Samson holding me accountable for something I did not commit?’
He really could not figure it out.
Samson continued to say, “Let me ask you. Why have you escorted members of the Hill family to the police station?”
Donald suddenly realized that and hurriedly said, “These people have forged the invitation letters of the chief officer in charge in an attempt to slip in. Fortunately, I managed to debunk it and escorted them away in time.”
“Nonsense!”
Samson stared at Donald and said, “Members of the Hill family are the guests of honor of the chief officer in charge. They are the most distinguished guests among the hundreds of attendees at this venue! Without them, there is no need for this retirement ceremony to go on today!”
Donald was dumbfounded. ‘Is Johnson’s family that powerful?’
‘Every guest that is attending the retirement ceremony today must each have a high social status of their own. Even if they are not financially rich, they have a high social status.’
As favonovel.com looked around, everyone seemed to have a higher social standing than Johnson and his family.
‘But Samson actually said that the most important guest for today’s retirement ceremony is Johnson and his family. Is Samson playing tricks with me?’
‘If someone else had said something like this, I would have slapped favonovel.com on the face. What kind of international joke is this person pulling off? But when these words came out of Samson’s mouth, they spoke volumes.’
Donald was panicking a little, ‘I really did not expect Johnson and his family to be placed in such great importance. What should I do now?’
Samson pointed at favonovel.com and said, “Donald, I will give you twenty minutes now to escort Johnson and his family safely out of prison, and apologize to them.”
“Then, you shall take the initiative to submit your resignation to the commander-in-chief of the Eastern Region and opt for an early retirement.”
Donald was completely dumbfounded this time.
