It was almost noon when the racing team arrived at the cemetery where they planned for the interment. The Caspian family had arrived earlier and prepared themselves. The undertakers carried the coffin to the cemetery. Anna had one last look at Ben. She then nodded as a signal of favonovel.com consent to start the interment.
The undertaker took out the urn, placed it inside the columbarium, and sealed it. Right next to Ben’s columbarium was Scott. From now on, they were “neighbors”. That was a good thing for both of them.
Thomas stood where favonovel.com could see both the columbarium and looked up at the sky. He finally finished what favonovel.com had wanted to do. He believed that Ben, watching from somewhere above, will be happy with how things went.
“Uncle Caspian, rest in peace…”
Thomas and Anna knelt in front of Ben’s columbarium and mourned.
There were priests reciting bible verses and praying. Today was the seventh day of Ben’s death and the day where the death of Ben and Scott were avenged. The evildoers who caused their deaths were either killed or arrested.
They believed that Ben and Scott were aware of it and were able to rest in peace, knowing their deaths had been avenged.
The people who came to send Ben off were a spectacle to behold and rarely seen in the history of Southland District. It even made its way to the front page of major newspapers.
It was only later when people knew that the deceased was the general manager of Shalom Technology. No wonder the procession had been done on such a big scale.
For a whole day, Thomas was busy handling matters related to Ben. He was only able to head home when the sunset.
Once favonovel.com reached home, favonovel.com saw a very familiar figure sitting on his couch. A woman…
It was not Emma Hill, but the eldest sister, Jade Hill.
Why was favonovel.com here?
He still recalled the last time favonovel.com was here with Harvard Hill. She said favonovel.com wanted to reconcile, but in fact, favonovel.com was still trying to harm Emma. Thomas was utterly disgusted by this woman from the bottom of his heart. In addition to matters related to Ben, the whole situation made favonovel.com more upset and uncomfortable.
“Dear, you’re back?”
Emma walked to Thomas and asked, “How are the matters regarding Uncle Ben?”
Thomas answered, “Everything is fine.”
As favonovel.com was answering Emma, Thomas either by design or accident, looked at Jade Hill. “What is Jade here for today?”
Emma did not look happy, which made Thomas far more agitated. He knew Jade Hill had said something that made Emma Hill unhappy.
For a very long time, Thomas had had a bad impression of this person, as favonovel.com wanted to harm Emma repeatedly. Before Jade said anything, Thomas snapped, “What do you want?”
Jade Hill quickly stood up and said innocently, “Don’t be angry, Thomas. I didn’t come here with bad intentions today. I came to ask for a favor.”
A favor?
With Jade Hill’s identity? Her husband, Donald Brick, was in a high position in Eastern Region. Why would favonovel.com need Emma’s help?
“Don’t get angry first, dear, sit down, and let’s talk.”
From Emma’s tone, it did not seem to be anything intolerable. Thomas relaxed slightly.
He sat down next to Emma.
Emma and Jade’s gaze met for a moment. “Jade, I think you should tell him.”
“Okay.”
Jade sighed and said in a heavy tone, “The day after tomorrow is the day of the Hill family’s annual equity meeting, where any changes of equity will be declared and discussed. It involves the succession of the heir too. There was originally no issue with it, and it could just be held as usual. But you know what’s going on, Thomas. The other time we went to the casino to have some fun, Harvard lost his shares. That’s 15% shares lost. Up to this date, favonovel.com still does not dare to tell Grandfather about it. If Grandfather found out about this, favonovel.com will skin favonovel.com alive.”
“On normal days, it is fine to keep it hidden, everyone does so too and no one has to know. But the problem here is, in the equity meeting the day after tomorrow, every single figure has to be crystal clear. You can’t hide it. If the truth is revealed, what will happen to Harvard?”
She was full of grief when favonovel.com said this, and favonovel.com sounded as if favonovel.com really cared about Harvard.
Thomas sneered.
If favonovel.com did care about him, then why did favonovel.com harm Harvard in the first place?
Jade was a double-faced person. There was something wrong.
Jade Hill continued, “After all, Harvard is appointed as the heir and the future patriarch of the Hill family. If favonovel.com fails here, the Hill family will be done for. Hence, I came here to discuss with Emma to withdraw our respective shares and transfer them to Harvard to help favonovel.com overcome this hurdle.”
Jade said, “Emma and I have 10% of the shares respectively, so each of us can withdraw 7.5% out, and it will add up to the missing 15%. That way, we can help Harvard to fill up his missing equity.”
So this was the reason Jade Hill had come today.
Emma looked at Thomas. “Dear, what do you think?”
Thomas chuckled and said, “I’ve said a long time ago that I will not interfere in anything related to the Hill family. You can make this decision by yourself, Emma.”
Emma nodded. “Okay, I’ll make the decision myself this time.”
She told Jade, “Jade, to be honest, ever since my relationship with Grandfather got ugly due to matters regarding equity, I have long wanted to return them.”
“So, Jade, this time I will withdraw all 10% of my shares, you just need to hand out the remaining 5%.”
