Connor Mileard said loudly, “Dr. Mayo, I am not saying this out of disrespect, but your idea is a little too far-fetched. It’s not gonna happen.”
Connor said, “The current operational status of our club is very bad. And amongst the States League, we are ranked very low, to the extent that we might fall into the relegation zone. It’s practically impossible that there’s someone who will be willing to take over.”
Cain added, “Even if someone is willing to take over a club in this state, it would be impossible for me to be their coach. After all, my reputation in the field has gone downhill, no one will welcome me.
The trio had zero confidence in Thomas’s idea.
That was natural.
It was impossible for anyone in their right mind to be interested in Thomas’s idea.
Adery asked, “How much does a soccer club cost? Can our clinic afford it?”
Cain shook his head with a bitter smile.
“The annual operation cost for the smallest club costs a few ten million dollars, and it goes up to a few hundred million dollars. The bigger clubs out there have a few hundred million to a few billion dollars invested into them annually. Dr. Owen, I’m sorry to say this, but depending on a clinic to support a soccer club is highly unlikely.”
That was true. Currently, those able to fund soccer clubs were most likely real estate companies. An ordinary enterprise would not be able to afford such expenses.
Money was the main weapon in a war. Soccer was a modern form of warfare. And it cannot be done without money.
Everyone present was disappointed.
Thomas said softly, “I happen to know an established company which has no issues with investing a few billion dollars annually. Maybe you should take a shot.”
“Oh? What company is that?”
Thomas uttered two words, “Shalom Technology.”
Thomas paused for a moment and continued. “Shalom Technology is not only an established company, but they are also cooperating with Scott’s Remembrance Cultural Arts Entertainment. Both of them are huge in their respective fields. Cooperation between these two also further increases their businesses. With their joint investment, it is not an issue to absorb your small soccer club.”
Cain and the Mileard brothers stared at each other.
“Dr. Mayo, although what you said is logical, would Shalom Technology even show any interest in soccer?”
“Yeah that’s right, we would probably be rejected right? It won’t be that bad if you get rejected, I’m afraid we can’t even enter the establishment.”
Thomas stared at the trio. “How can you give up without trying? At the very least, you should give it a shot before anything else. Plus, as far as I know, Shalom Technology’s boss loves soccer. It could be a chance for you guys.”
They decided to give it a shot after Thomas repeatedly urged them to try.
Since their current situation was already bleak, it could not get any worse. Worst off, they would get kicked out of the establishment. They had nothing to lose.
