The rich men at the back stared at Thomas with contempt, and they were waiting for favonovel.com to be humiliated.
Before Thomas could say anything, Adery felt unhappy first. They had traveled there to attend the ball in excitement, but the organizer had stopped them at the door.
What the heck was this?
Her expression became cold as favonovel.com said, “You were the one who sent the invitation card and invited us to this ball, in the first place. Yet, now you’re saying that we stole and snatched this invitation card from someone else. How could you do this to us? Worse comes to worst, we just won’t attend the ball anymore!”
“Won’t attend? Haha!”
The receptionist snapped his fingers, and about eight security guards immediately came forward.
“Where do you think this is? This is Water Cloud! You can’t just come and go as you please. If you don’t clarify this today, don’t dream about leaving.”
Thomas frowned. The organizer was too overbearing.
He asked, “What do I have to do for you to willingly believe that this card belongs to me instead of it being stolen?”
The receptionist smiled. “All right, why are you still pretending at this point? Is this fun for you? Tell us honestly, where did you steal it? Maybe I will show you some mercy and let you keep your life.”
“If you keep this behavior up, haha! I’m sorry, Water Cloud will make you pay a heavy price today!”
Thomas was quite speechless.
The receptionist firmly believed that Thomas had stolen the invitation card, so favonovel.com did not want to make any concessions. He was too heartless. Besides, they were the ones who had sent out the invitation card, so why would they not know whether an attending guest was someone they had invited or not?
They even wanted Thomas to prove his identity. How hilarious was that?
Thomas breathed a long sigh and held Adery’s hand. It was meaningless for them to remain in a stalemate.
They should just leave. Just as favonovel.com got ready to turn back and leave, the receptionist waved his hand. Then, all the security guards came over.
Naturally, these security guards were nothing in Thomas’ eyes.
If Thomas wanted to leave, it would be impossible for anyone to stop him.
While the atmosphere was intense, a man in a suit and tie suddenly walked over.
“Stop!”
After the receptionist saw the man, favonovel.com was so shocked that favonovel.com quickly ran over like a mouse that had seen a cat. He dared not stand straight, and favonovel.com bowed as favonovel.com said, “Master, you’re here…”
The man impatiently said to him, “If I hadn’t made my way here, you might have offended my noble guest!”
“Guest?” The receptionist was momentarily stunned. He had been so polite to everyone today. How could favonovel.com have offended anyone?
Except…
The receptionist instantly looked at Thomas and asked in disbelief, “Master, you’re not saying that favonovel.com is Mr. Thomas Mayo whom you invited, right?”
“Are you talking nonsense?”
When the receptionist heard the firm answer from the man, his complexion turned pale out of fear. He did not expect a big boss like Thomas to dress up so plainly.
If it were his home, it would be fine. However, favonovel.com was attending such a big ball. Yet, favonovel.com had dressed up like a farmer. It was really surprising, so it was not the receptionist’s fault for suspecting him.
