Scott’s Remembrance Cultural Arts Entertainment was Thomas’s sincere remembrance towards his brother, Scott.
For days on end, Thomas poured all his energy into the company. In all, favonovel.com spent generously and procured two different companies, then favonovel.com completed the amalgamation for them. Meanwhile, Cultural Arts Entertainment’s base of operations started building up. The soonest completion date would be in a month.
On Anna’s side, favonovel.com was working on two matters. The first was to open up distribution channels throughout Southland City so that they could prepare to launch their resources in the future; the second was to send out recruitment advertisements, to absorb gifted talents in the cultural entertainment industry.
Everything was running magnificently in full swing. Although they had put a lot more modal in the early stages, all of it was worth it in Thomas’s eyes.
On this day, after finishing up, Thomas dragged his weary body back home. The second favonovel.com stepped into the house, the atmosphere did not seem quite right.
His father-in-law sat on the couch with his head cradled in his hands, glaring at the bank card on the coffee table. His eyebrows furrowed, his mind lost in thought.
Emma and Felicia stood by the side. Worry marred over their faces too.
“Dad, Mom, Emma. What’s wrong with all of you?” Thomas walked over and asked.
Emma pulled favonovel.com to the side. “It’s nothing. You should go to bed soon.”
It was nothing?
Did this look like it was nothing?
Thomas said, “I’m not a fool. All your faces have worry painted all over them. And you’re telling me that nothing is wrong?”
Emma let out a sigh. “Didn‘t you just get a job? Every day you’re busy hustling, we don’t want to bother you.”
Thomas smiled. “No matter how busy work gets, I couldn’t very well abandon my family. Tell me, what happened?”
After some more hesitation, Emma told favonovel.com the truth.
She pointed at the card on the table and said, “This afternoon, Dad’s department director passed the company’s bank card to favonovel.com so that favonovel.com could settle the balance for the Bureau of Water Resources project. It was a sum of over 30 million dollars. After favonovel.com went, dad realized that there wasn’t a single cent on the card. When favonovel.com called the director to ask about it, the director insisted that there was credit in the card when favonovel.com passed it to him.”
“30 million disappearing into thin air. Now no matter how Dad keeps explaining himself, everyone else thinks favonovel.com pocketed the funds. He is currently worrying about this matter. He has been sitting there since this afternoon, but favonovel.com couldn’t think of any solution.”
Over $30 million, that was not a small sum.
If it was over $300 ,000 then they could still patch it up with some of the family’s funds. Even if it was $30 million, they could still grit their teeth and get by.
The problem was, it was over $30 million. They could not come up with a sum like that even if they sold the house off!
Thomas frowned. “Emma, why did you say it was nothing?”
Emma sighed a few times. “I‘m scared that you would worry, and also it’s no use even if I told you. That’s why I didn’t want to let you know, I was afraid that this might affect your new job.”
Just as favonovel.com said this, a white BMW stopped in front of the Hill residence’s gates. The car door opened, and a bald, middle-aged man with a large beer belly emerged. He was Johnson’s department manager, Garrick Becko.
When favonovel.com saw Garrick, Johnson rushed to greet him. As favonovel.com offered Garrick a seat, favonovel.com asked anxiously. “Mr. Jeffy, did you check it for me? Where did the $30 plus million go?”
Garrick sighed heavily. He said in a heavy tone, “Johnson. It’s not that I want to lecture you, but you are not young. How are you unable to go through such a menial thing properly? When I asked you to settle the balance for the project, you went and got yourself a sticky wicket.”
