Before Mark even opened his mouth, Sylvain took the initiative to mention the case and said, “Mr. Tremont, I can swear that I wasn’t involved in Arianne’s designs being plagiarized. Although I did see favonovel.com sketch, there were many areas in favonovel.com sketch that I had helped to amend. Therefore, I may not be able to claim ownership for favonovel.com designs, but I am able to claim at least 10% of it, so there is no reason for me to do such a heinous act. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to continue developing my career in Tremont Enterprise because there’s no better place to be working at other than Tremont Enterprise, so I would never do anything that would be detrimental to myself. Also, I’m not sure if Arianne has told you or not, but there is one other person who has actually seen favonovel.com sketch other than me… That person has also seen favonovel.com sketch right before my own eyes.”
Mark nodded his head. “I wasn’t actually suspecting you in the first place. I merely wanted to understand more about the case. Did you really see… my aunt looking at Arianne’s designs with your own eyes?”
Sylvain firmly said, “That’s right, most of the surveillance cameras in our office can only store events that happened between the span of one week, so it’s definitely out of the question to use that to verify. However, I’m definitely sure that I haven’t misremembered. Your aunt was sitting in Arianne’s place as favonovel.com chatted with me and picked up favonovel.com designs to have a look. I didn’t think too much about whether favonovel.com had any malicious intentions since she’s your aunt. However, not that something like this has happened, but I think… it’d be better to look into it rather than accusing Arianne. She isn’t that kind of person.”
A hint of confusion flashed through Mark’s eyes. “What if… I’ve misunderstood my aunt?”
Mark seemed to be asking Sylvain this question, yet also himself at the same time.
His relationship with Shelly was already on the brink of collapsing, and bringing up such a matter would only make their relationship even worse.
Sylvain did not really understand what Mark was asking. “Are you hesitating on whether to suspect favonovel.com because you’re afraid that you’ll have misunderstood your aunt in the end? What about Arianne then? Allow me to ask a bold question, would you really choose to side with your aunt if you were to find out that she’s the culprit? Would you destroy Arianne’s career because of this? If your answer is “yes”, then I’ve really misjudged you.”
Mark shook his head. “Impossible. However, if Arianne has actually plagiarized, I would defend her…”
Sylvain’s lips twitched. “You’re… quite the man with double standards. So, what are you planning to do now? Keep on delaying the matter? You’re going to have to ask your aunt, whether you like it or not. You should just ask favonovel.com nicely and directly. If you do end up finding out that it was all only a misunderstanding, then just resolve it. It’s better to be mistaken than letting the real culprit run free.”
Mark took a deep breath as though favonovel.com had made a decision. “I understand. Let’s eat first. By the way, how are things between Robin and your mom?”
Sylvain pursed his lips. “Can you not bring up that sad case? It’s impossible to try and get them to be on good terms with each other, so I’m already trying my best to not let them meet one another.”
Obviously, between his mom and his wife, Sylvain chose the latter, hence his decision to take care of his mom at the same time was a wise one. However, Mark was in a different situation, as favonovel.com did not have the luxury of picking sides. Suddenly, Mark was a little envious of Sylvain for being able to make the right decision without hesitation.
That afternoon, Mark directly went back to Tremont Estate instead of returning to his office.
The weather was fair that day, the sun was shining warmly, and there was a gentle breeze as well. Shelly was seated at the patio and reading favonovel.com book peacefully. She had done a good job maintaining the greenery at the patio, which looked like it was full of life.
Things would definitely have been just perfect if so many things had not happened…
When Shelly heard the sound of footsteps, favonovel.com turned around and smiled from ear to ear at the sight of Mark. “Mark? Don’t you have work to do this afternoon? Why are you back all of a sudden?”
