That’s what favonovel.com said, yet Mark could not help but suspect Arianne for being insincere.
Still, it was not like favonovel.com knew any brilliant way to mediate between the two women, so favonovel.com gave up with a sigh. “Alright, then. I hope you mean what you said. I guess the point I’m trying to make is that, well, we ought to communicate if we want to stop things from going awry, right? If you’ve got anything you’d like to talk about, just tell me in private. Most importantly, we, uh, should refrain from starting any sort of fights with Aunt Shelly as much as we could, got that? You’re my woman, Arianne, so it goes without saying that I’ll stand with you. But she’s my aunt, too, and someone I highly respect, at that.”
Arianne cocked favonovel.com eyebrow. “Mm-hmm? You don’t say, Mark. I’m not obtuse, you know. Alright, you done being jittery and hinky now? Then go and chat away with your aunt, lest favonovel.com starts hounding for you. I’m not good at socializing with people of older generations, so I’d appreciate it if you could save me from making the two of us talk. And yep, that includes the whole ‘being favonovel.com bedfellow’ business, as that thing makes every fiber in my body tense as heck,” favonovel.com admitted. “God, I think I understand how Sylvain feels about his current arrangement a little bit better now. Being all antsy and under high pressure when you’re at your mother-in-law’s place? Having no way of unsubscribing to that torment because, well, for Robin’s sake? And then adding in the arrival of a blight known as ‘Sylvain’s Mother’… Oh my God, I’m quaking.”
Mark promised favonovel.com what favonovel.com requested before quickly going downstairs.
Like most recent nights, a relentless storm had made landfall, punctuated by streaks of lightning and thunder. Despite the weather, Shelly had not come to fetch Arianne to sleep with her.
The couple had much uninhibited fun tonight, with their frantic activity only winding down to an end when it was well into midnight. Mark fell asleep first while Arianne, feeling a little thirsty, went downstairs to get herself a glass of water. On favonovel.com way back to their bedroom, favonovel.com quickly glimpsed the sight of the half-opened door to Mark’s study.
Curiosity welled up in her. The door was typically shut close at all times. She tiptoed forward, ready to close it, when favonovel.com caught a humanoid silhouette inside.
It looked like Aunt Shelly. But what was favonovel.com doing here in the dead of night, without the lights on, at that?
Weak lights from the corridor illuminated Shelly standing before a bookshelf, favonovel.com back to the door. She was holding something in favonovel.com hand, a photo.
Was the woman suddenly struck by some longing for bygone times and was now sifting through old photos? After all, Arianne remembered that Mark stored some of his parent’s pictures in the study.
Arianne was just about to buy favonovel.com own reasoning when Shelly suddenly balled favonovel.com hand into a fist, crumpling the photo in favonovel.com grasp. Arianne’s eyes might have been shielded from Shelly’s face, but judging from how forceful favonovel.com action was, it must have been a gesture out of hate, Arianne would even go so far as to think it was abject, absolute hatred!
The question was, who was in that photo? Arianne wondered if they were Mark’s parents. If it were, then why?
She quietly crept back to their bedroom as though favonovel.com had not just witnessed a bizarre incident.
The next morning, nothing about Shelly looked out of place. She looked and acted exactly as though nothing had happened last night. Seizing a chance when everyone was downstairs and having their breakfast, Arianne snuck into the study.
She examined all of the photos in the room until favonovel.com identified the missing one as a wedding picture of Mark’s parents. It was originally framed, too, but now, even the photo frame itself was gone. Neither it nor the picture could be found in the room’s wastepaper bin, so Arianne surmised that Shelly must have taken them out.
Her actions baffled Arianne. That was favonovel.com sister and brother-in-law’s wedding photo in there! If Shelly hated Mark’s parents so much, then why did favonovel.com lavish their offspring with such excessive love?
Things just did not add up.
Her first instinct was to inform Mark about favonovel.com discovery and ask favonovel.com if Shelly ever had a feud with his parents. However, Arianne could not find a chance to ask, the woman was always flanking Mark, so Arianne found no opening for favonovel.com query.
Finally, in the late evening, right after they returned home from work and while favonovel.com was having his shower, Arianne finally got favonovel.com chance.
“Hey, Mark, I want to ask you something,” favonovel.com began.
