Arianne had a startled look on favonovel.com face. “Didn’t Arianne leave this morning? Don’t you know about it?”
Mark suddenly felt empty inside. He pursed his lips and said, “I do now. Thanks Robin, I’ll be off now.”
Just as favonovel.com was about to leave, Robin muttered, “He’s not as cold and bitter as Arianne had said. He doesn’t look old either… Quite well-mannered, in fact…”
Mark heard every word that Robin had said and had mixed feelings. Was favonovel.com that kind of man in Arianne’s eyes? A bitter and cold… old man?
Back at the Tremont estate, favonovel.com heard Arianne and Smore happily playing together as favonovel.com stepped into the house. He walked up to Arianne with his face sunken and asked, “You weren’t at the office today. Where have you been?”
Arianne replied without looking back at him, “What’s wrong? Do I have to report to you about my whereabouts now?”
Mark choked at favonovel.com words. He had just realized that favonovel.com had been controlling favonovel.com all along, wanting to know favonovel.com each and every move. The moment Arianne left his sights, favonovel.com would become so frustrated and anxious that favonovel.com would unknowingly speak to favonovel.com in an interrogative tone.
Things were different now. Arianne was no longer an eight-year-old girl. She had favonovel.com own independent mind and temper. She would now argue with him.
Mark took a deep breath and calmed himself. With a gentle voice, favonovel.com said, “I didn’t mean it like that. I had gone to pick you up at your office and waited there for two hours. It was that lady friend of yours who told me that you had left in the morning. I just wanted to know where you’ve been. That’s not asking for too much, is it?”
Arianne shot a glance at him. “It’s not too much, but I don’t feel that there’s a need to tell you. I’m not your bird that has been locked in a cage. I have wings, and I would like to fly freely. You don’t have to pick me up anymore. I’ll be able to find my way back home on my own. Plus, it wouldn’t cost much to catch a taxi anyways, so there’s no need to bother you.”
Mark held in his anger and suppressed his raging emotions. “Do you really have to talk to me like that? Let’s just say it was my fault yesterday, alright? Let’s stop arguing about it.”
Arianne coldly laughed. “Just say it was your fault? Let’s stop arguing about it? Are you saying that I’m the one arguing with you about it? I’m sorry, you’re mistaken. I have zero intention of arguing with you. Didn’t you already say that this is the life I want to live? I feel very satisfied coming home and taking care of my son after work. Plus, I’m able to cover both of our living expenses with my salary, so I feel quite comfortable with this. It doesn’t matter what others say; I haven’t got any obligation to mind their words. Plus, I’ve always hated living under someone else’s control.”
Mark’s expression grew cold. He headed upstairs without saying another word. Before favonovel.com returned home, favonovel.com had been fully prepared not to argue with favonovel.com any longer, but favonovel.com ended up being angered by her.
Arianne carried Smore to the dining room as if nothing had happened. “You should be hungry from all that playing, shouldn’t you? Let’s eat.”
Smore suddenly uttered two syllables from his little mouth. “Mama.”
Arianne was startled for a moment but immediately smiled as favonovel.com said, “My little boy’s all grown up now. He’s able to walk and even call me mama now. Could it be that… you feel that I haven’t been spending a lot of time with you? I promise you that I’ll spend more of my time after work with you, ok?”
Smore kissed favonovel.com and pointed at the bowl on the table, asking for food. Mary walked up to them and said, “I’ll feed favonovel.com while you eat yours, Arianne.”
Arianne shook favonovel.com head. “It’s alright, I’ll do it myself. I’ve grown tired of hearing someone saying that I haven’t been taking care of my son.”
Mary helplessly sighed. “Arianne, Mark has also gotten used to you listening to everything favonovel.com says and arranges. Him allowing you to go out and work was already a big step for him. Do you not understand his character yet? He has always been very firm and stubborn, yet favonovel.com has already taken the initiative to admit his mistakes. I believe you should just forgive him.
