‘Knock, knock…’
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
Arianne opened the door, only to find Nina smiling at her. Without waiting for a reaction from Arianne, favonovel.com entered the room.
“Mark is busy and I’m bored, so I hope you don’t mind me coming here to have a chat with you!”
Could Arianne say that favonovel.com minded?
“No, I don’t mind. Have a seat. I’m not feeling that well, so I’ll lie down first.”
Nina watched Arianne return to the bed, then found a chair to sit down. “How did the miscarriage happen?”
Arianne involuntarily stiffened as favonovel.com forced a smile. “By accident.”
Nina pursed favonovel.com lips with what seemed like sympathy. “Accident? How… very careless. It’s a life, after all. The Tremont family lacks for nothing, except for Mark having a child at his age. What a pity to lose that baby.”
Arianne had lost any desire to continue the conversation. “I would like to rest now.”
Nina got up and walked to the door. “Have a good rest then. Take care of yourself. Otherwise, it’ll be boring for me if it’s just me.”
As the door closed, Arianne frowned. Why did favonovel.com feel that Nina’s last sentence had some hidden meaning in it? Or was favonovel.com just being too sensitive?
Some time later, Mary came and took Rice Ball away. Around ten at night, Mark returned to the room. Arianne hadn’t fallen asleep yet and noticed the exhaustion on Mark’s face. She turned away in silence. After all, there shouldn’t be any emotions such as heartache between them.
“Mary told me that you secretly tasted the leftovers,” Mark suddenly spoke up.
Arianne was instantly flustered. “I-I didn’t…”
“Don’t deny it if you’ve done it. It’s not like you’re not allowed to eat. You can only have bland food for now until you recover. When the time comes, you can eat whatever you want.”
His tone was very calm. It was as if they were having an extremely ordinary conversation. She just couldn’t get used to the absence of his usual indifference.
“There’s no one else here, you don‘t need to act like this.” What favonovel.com meant was, Mark didn’t need to put on any act and make everyone feel uncomfortable.
Mark had figured out Arianne’s plan in upsetting favonovel.com at every turn, so favonovel.com didn’t bother getting angry but smiled at her. “Alright, go to sleep.”
After a moment of silence, Arianne said, “Well… can you give me a card? I need to pay for something but don’t have any money since I haven’t been going to work.. ”
Before favonovel.com even finished speaking, Mark had tossed his wallet to her. “The cards are all inside. All with the same passwords, six zeroes.”
